About the role
You will be the primary external sales representative for A Place for Mom, acting as the face of the brand within your designated territory by building authentic relationships with hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. This role owns the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach to final referral, focusing on driving qualified leads and move-ins for senior care options. You are accountable for generating a daily flow of qualified patient referrals by executing a disciplined market plan for each account you manage. Success in this position requires a hunger to build trust with healthcare professionals and a persistent commitment to refining your approach to meet the needs of every account. You will partner closely with Healthcare Senior Living Advisors to ensure families receive the right level of care at the right time. The role demands strong strategic thinking and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving industry. You will directly contribute to the mission of helping families navigate difficult transitions with confidence and support.

What you'll do
Execute a daily plan to generate qualified patient referrals from hospitals and skilled nursing facilities within your assigned book of accounts.
Develop and own a growing portfolio of referral sources, including social workers, case managers, and discharge planners, to increase move-in volume.
Cultivate new relationships through targeted networking, cold calls, and in-person service presentations that clearly communicate A Place for Mom's value.
Follow up consistently with each referral source to track discharge outcomes and reinforce the impact of your partnership.
Educate families and healthcare professionals on senior living options and coordinate closely with Healthcare Senior Living Advisors during the decision process.
Leverage CRM tools and internal reporting structures to analyze performance, manage your pipeline, and identify new opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams to pilot new initiatives, such as account scoring and process improvements, and provide feedback for refinement.
Maintain a deep understanding of the senior living industry, hospital sales cycles, and the specific needs of discharge planners and physicians.
Demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational skills to balance multiple accounts and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Travel daily within your territory to engage with referral sources and participate in scheduled and impromptu meetings.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree or are currently pursuing one as part of your professional development.
Bring 3-5 years of outside sales experience as an individual contributor with a strong track record in prospecting and lead generation.
Possess specific knowledge of the Senior Living Industry and how care options are delivered in clinical settings.
Have hospital or skilled nursing facility sales experience that demonstrates an ability to navigate complex buying centers.
Show a proven history of exceeding sales quotas while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
Be a relationship-driven professional who operates with a strategic mindset and long-term thinking.
Have successfully presented to target customers and overcome objections in high-stakes environments.
Thrive in a fast-paced, change-infused atmosphere with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and solve problems independently.
Display a strong competitive drive and an eagerness to continuously learn and improve your sales techniques.
Commit to traveling daily into your accounts during the standard 5-day business week within the local San Antonio area.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clinicians, and family decision-makers at all levels.
Manage your schedule with strong time management skills to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Be technologically proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and a CRM platform such as Salesforce.
Nice to have
Previous experience working directly with seniors, caregivers, or aging services within a clinical or community setting.
Familiarity with local healthcare networks, discharge planning processes, and community referral structures in San Antonio.
Experience using sales intelligence tools, data enrichment platforms, or marketing automation systems to support outreach.
A background in coaching, teaching, or presenting to groups in a professional capacity.
Practical notes
This role requires daily travel within the San Antonio area to visit accounts, attend meetings, and engage with referral partners.
