Staff Security Engineer

About the role

Join 6sense's Security department to safeguard our operations by preventing, detecting, investigating, and responding to security events. This role is integral to protecting the company from business-impacting threats.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Advance security operations and threat management initiatives according to the established security plan.
• Address significant security incidents, including system breaches and denial-of-service attacks, through ongoing monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and log analysis.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Infrastructure, IT, GRC, Cloud, and Application Security, as well as external vendors, to confirm alerts, resolve incidents, and determine root causes.
• Research new threats and vulnerabilities, and implement controls to protect products and services.
• Conduct security forensics and build automated tools to enhance the efficiency of the security team.
• Plan and lead threat simulation exercises based on current security trends and research.
• Guide other information security engineers in implementing security controls and managing risks.
• Communicate security risks and mitigation strategies to various audiences.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Security Operations or comparable role.
• At least 3 years of experience developing automation solutions.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience performing adversary emulation exercises.
• Familiarity with security tools and cloud platforms, including vulnerability scanners, SIEM, SOAR, and AWS.
• Experience with industry frameworks and regulations such as MITRE ATT&CK, STRIDE, PASTA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI, SOX, and NIST.

Nice to have

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
