Position Overview

Zoox is expanding its recruiting team with a dedicated technical sourcer to support critical safety verification functions. This position is integral to the teams responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our robotaxi platform. The role encompasses a diverse range of technical domains, including AI software, systems engineering, software development, and system verification. You will be tasked with identifying and attracting specialized engineering talent to meet these rigorous standards. The position is based in either Foster City, California, or San Diego, California.

In this capacity, you will serve as the primary link between our urgent safety needs and the specialized technical expertise required to fulfill them. The position demands a proactive approach to understanding complex requirements and a strategic mindset for building robust talent pipelines. You will act as a consultant to hiring managers and a champion for quality sourcing.

Core Responsibilities

Your daily work will focus on the meticulous assessment and cultivation of technical talent. You will own the end-to-end process for specific safety-critical roles.

You will analyze and deconstruct job requirements to identify the precise technical and behavioral competencies needed for success. This involves deep collaboration with engineering leadership to clarify expectations.

Your expertise will be used to source and rigorously screen resumes. You will evaluate candidates on both their technical aptitude and their behavioral indicators, determining fit for highly specialized roles. This requires a keen ability to assess complex technical discussions.

You will design and execute targeted sourcing campaigns. This includes creating sophisticated Boolean search strings and leveraging diverse channels to locate experts in AI software, systems engineering, and verification processes.

You will build and maintain a strong pipeline of engineering talent. This involves close coordination with recruiting partners to align candidate flow with project priorities and urgent timelines.

A key part of your role is tracking and analyzing source performance metrics. You will use this data to refine recruitment channels and continuously improve the quality of candidates presented.

You will establish and nurture consultative relationships with hiring managers. This ensures a clear understanding of evolving needs and expectations regarding robotaxi safety verification.

You will guide passive candidates through insightful conversations. These discussions will explore opportunities related to the unique challenges of robotaxi safety and verification.

You will maintain a diverse and robust pipeline by engaging with tech industry sectors and specialty areas. This ensures resilience and variety in the talent pool.

You will review current market data and compensation trends. This ensures that our offers remain competitive for highly sought-after skills in AI and systems verification.

You will partner directly with teams responsible for platform safety. This ensures that selected candidates align with both the technical and cultural requirements of the organization.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in technical recruitment.

You must possess four or more years of full-cycle sourcing experience, specifically within technical fields.

You must have a demonstrated ability to evaluate technical aptitude. This includes screening candidates for both technical knowledge and behavioral fit during the interview process.

You must have a strong understanding of the technology sector. This includes knowledge of AI software, systems engineering, and system verification methodologies.

You must exhibit exceptional consultative and interpersonal skills. You will communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following experiences will significantly enhance your ability to succeed.

Experience in recruiting or sourcing systems or software positions within technology environments is highly valued.

A background working for a recruiting agency or managing internal sourcing responsibilities is beneficial.

You have a proven history of collaborating directly with engineering leadership and hiring managers.

You have a specific focus on recruiting for AI software, machine learning platforms, and related advanced technologies.
