What you'll do

Architect and design scalable, secure software solutions for computer-based systems, ensuring alignment with federal standards and client objectives.

Evaluate and integrate modern development tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and quality of the software delivery pipeline.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation plans.

Develop high-quality code for complex software capabilities, applying best practices in software architecture, coding standards, and version control.

Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging of software components to identify and resolve defects before deployment to production environments.

Implement software solutions that meet the stringent performance, security, and reliability requirements of federal government systems.

Partner with security specialists to ensure all implementations adhere to strict security protocols and data protection regulations.

Maintain detailed technical documentation for all software components, APIs, and integration points to support future maintenance and scaling.

Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and constructive feedback to elevate the entire team's capabilities.

Stay current with emerging trends and innovations in software engineering to proactively suggest improvements and new methodologies.

Lead the execution of software projects from initial conception through final deployment, managing timelines and ensuring on-time delivery.

Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement optimizations that improve user experience and system efficiency.

Serve as a technical leader within the team, facilitating knowledge sharing and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Ensure all software deliverables comply with federal contract requirements, including adherence to specific security and compliance mandates.

Requirements

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Demonstrate a strong proficiency in software development principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.

Possess hands-on experience with modern programming languages and frameworks relevant to the development of computer-based systems.

Showcase a proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing complex software solutions in previous professional roles.

Exhibit the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment, communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Maintain a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all software deliverables are of the highest quality and meet rigorous standards.

Highlight a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability, essential traits for keeping pace with the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Demonstrate the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.

Nice to have

Experience with security clearance investigations and the ability to maintain the necessary clearances for continued project participation.

Familiarity with the specific tools, technologies, and methodologies commonly used within the federal contracting space.

Practical notes

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Active federal government security clearance required.

Employment in San Antonio, Texas is required.

This role is eligible for the hybrid work model.
