Investigate and reverse-engineer legacy operational workflows to identify modernization opportunities within a microservices ecosystem.
Evaluate existing system behaviors against user requirements to define precise technical specifications for new components.
Orchestrate the design of microservices using cutting-edge technologies to replace outdated monolithic processes.
Quantify system performance metrics through rigorous testing and validation protocols to ensure reliability and scalability.
Translate complex mathematical models, including discrete mathematics and probability theory, into executable software solutions.
Generalize architectural patterns to enable reuse across diverse federal applications and operational environments.
Construct and maintain comprehensive documentation that details system architecture, APIs, and operational procedures.
Deliver interactive demonstrations and technical briefings that clearly articulate system functionality and benefits to non-technical stakeholders.
Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines to automate testing and streamline release cycles.
Monitor production systems post-deployment to identify bottlenecks and drive iterative improvements based on feedback.
Coordinate with security and compliance teams to ensure all implementations meet federal standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
Eligible United States Citizens must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with agency-appropriate polygraph adjudication.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience in software development, including hands-on work with complex software systems.
You must have a proven track record of applying discrete mathematics and probability theory to solve challenging computational problems.
Applicants must be capable of analyzing, designing, verifying, and validating software systems in a regulated environment.
You must be able to generalize techniques and develop solutions that are applicable across multiple federal domains and use cases.
Candidates must have the ability to create and maintain detailed documentation and training materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
You must be comfortable presenting technical briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders at various organizational levels.

Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
United States Citizenship and the appropriate security clearance are mandatory for this role.
Candidates must be able to meet federal contract requirements and pass agency-appropriate polygraph examinations.
Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates, subject to contract constraints.
The position is eligible for a $5,000 bonus, which includes a 20% SEP IRA contribution as part of the total compensation package.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of security clearance processing.
All work must be performed in accordance with federal guidelines and contractual obligations.
