What you'll do

• Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for mill employees, focusing on equipment operation, hazard recognition, and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of mill operations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with management to develop safety policies and procedures that align with industry standards and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions, safety audits, and incident reports to track compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to engage employees in discussions about safety concerns and encourage their participation in safety initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as necessary to enhance learning outcomes.
• Act as a resource for employees regarding safety-related questions and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.

• Prepare and present safety performance reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in safety training, preferably in a mining or milling environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a related role.
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and standards applicable to milling operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective training programs tailored to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical skills to assess safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Proficient in using safety management software and tools for tracking training and compliance metrics.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
