The Workplace Activity Data Contributor will play a central role in gathering, organizing, and preparing workplace activity datasets that power the platform's analytics and insights. This position involves working closely with the data engineering and product teams to ensure that activity data is accurate, well-structured, and ready for downstream consumption. The contributor will help shape how workplace behavioral patterns are captured and represented across the system, directly influencing the quality of insights that customers receive from the platform. The role requires a methodical approach to data handling and a genuine interest in understanding the dynamics of modern workplace environments. The contributor will also participate in ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining data workflows and reducing processing latency.

What you'll do
Collect and validate workplace activity data from multiple internal and external sources on a daily basis.
Transform raw activity logs into clean, structured datasets suitable for analysis and reporting pipelines.
Collaborate with the data engineering team to define schemas and standards for activity data storage.
Monitor data quality metrics and flag inconsistencies or anomalies in incoming activity records.
Document data collection procedures and maintain clear records of source transformations and mappings.
Support the product team by providing curated activity datasets for feature development and testing.
Assist in building automated workflows that reduce manual effort in the data preparation process.
Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored activity datasets.
Perform regular audits of existing datasets to ensure completeness and accuracy of workplace activity records.
Contribute to the improvement of data governance policies and best practices across the organization.
Review and update data dictionaries that describe the meaning and format of each activity field in the repository.
Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss data priorities, upcoming projects, and potential improvements to existing workflows.
Maintain a searchable catalog of all data sources and their associated metadata for easy reference by the team.
Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and escalate unresolved problems to the engineering team with detailed documentation of symptoms.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, or information systems.
At least two years of hands-on experience working with workplace or organizational activity datasets in a professional or research setting.
Strong attention to detail and a consistent track record of producing accurate, high-quality data outputs.
Proficiency in using spreadsheet tools and databases for organizing and querying structured data.
Familiarity with data cleaning techniques and the ability to handle messy or incomplete datasets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with technical and non-technical team members.
Experience with version control systems such as Git for managing data pipelines and scripts.
Ability to work independently and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice to have
Prior experience contributing to open-source data projects or public datasets related to workplace analytics.
Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data manipulation, transformation, and basic statistical analysis tasks.
Familiarity with workplace collaboration platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, or similar tools.
Background in organizational behavior, human resources analytics, or related social science research disciplines.
