We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to design and implement autonomous AI agent solutions that drive enterprise automation. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end delivery of high-impact AI workflows from initial discovery through production deployment. You will translate ambiguous business problems into concrete technical solutions using the Workato Agentic AI platform. You will act as a critical bridge between product strategy and customer implementation realities. The role requires a deep commitment to writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code under tight deadlines. You will be responsible for ensuring that complex agent-based systems perform reliably in diverse enterprise environments. Ultimately, your work will directly influence how enterprises automate and leverage artificial intelligence at scale.

What you'll do
- Architect and develop agent-based AI solutions using the Workato Agentic AI platform to automate complex enterprise tasks.
- Design and build autonomous workflows that leverage multi-agent collaboration and sophisticated orchestration patterns.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to deliver context-aware and accurate responses from large language models.
- Apply advanced memory, prompting, and behavior-planning techniques to ensure reliable execution of complex workflows.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate issues within AI-driven architectures and large-scale RAG pipelines.
- Create and maintain AI-powered IT workflows that incorporate dynamic data retrieval and real-time decision-making.
- Conduct rigorous performance monitoring and optimization of AI systems to ensure high efficiency and stability.
- Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver tailored AI solutions that meet business objectives.
- Work alongside cross-functional engineering and product teams to seamlessly integrate AI workflows into existing IT infrastructure.
- Document technical implementations and contribute to internal knowledge bases to support product managers in defining future specifications.
Requirements
- Hold a BTech, BE, or higher degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field.
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of total professional experience focused on design, development, and implementation of software solutions.
- Have at least 1 year of hands-on experience specifically with the Workato platform and its capabilities.
- Demonstrate a proven background in AI engineering with a strong emphasis on agent-based system design and development.
- Show experience in architecting scalable AI-driven workflows intended for IT operations and business processes.
- Exhibit proficiency in integration technologies covering automation, middleware, web services, APIs, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Service Buses (ESB), and Software Development Kits (SDKs).
- Display strong knowledge of RESTful and SOAP APIs, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and both Relational Database Management Systems and NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrate practical experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
- Possess the ability to communicate highly complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Show strong analytical, critical thinking, and time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Nice to have
- Bring experience with integration tools such as TIBCO, Dell Boomi, or MuleSoft to accelerate legacy system connectivity.
- Show familiarity with cloud technologies, Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS), and various Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
- Have experience with cloud-based business applications including Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, ServiceNow, or Marketo.
- Demonstrate knowledge of microservices architecture, event-driven design patterns, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) concepts.
