About the role
Wolt is currently seeking a dedicated Shop Worker to become part of their operations team based in Novi Sad, Serbia. This position plays a vital role in the daily functioning of a Wolt-associated store, supporting both internal logistics and external customer service activities. The Shop Worker is responsible for a wide range of hands-on tasks that keep the store running smoothly from open to close each working day. Candidates should be physically active, well-organized individuals who take pride in maintaining high standards of store presentation and order accuracy. Key facts
What you'll do
- Assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing all incoming goods and supplies at the store on a daily basis
- Maintain clean, tidy, and orderly store shelves, display areas, and backroom storage spaces in accordance with company standards
- Help pack and prepare customer orders accurately before they are handed over to delivery drivers for transport
- Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis and report low-stock or out-of-stock items to the team lead promptly
- Greet customers in person at the store and provide friendly, helpful service throughout their visit and shopping experience
- Operate basic store equipment such as barcode scanners, label printers, packing stations, and handheld devices correctly and safely
- Follow all established company procedures for handling, storing, and rotating products to ensure quality and freshness are maintained
- Collaborate closely with delivery drivers and warehouse staff to coordinate order pickups, staging, and timely drop-off schedules
- Participate in daily opening and closing store routines, including cash handling, register reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting duties
- Support seasonal promotional campaigns and merchandising efforts by setting up displays, updating signage, and arranging featured products
- Communicate with the store manager about any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or supply shortages that arise during shifts
- Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene protocols are followed consistently throughout the store and backroom areas
Requirements
- Minimum of one to two years of prior experience working in a retail, warehouse, or store environment is expected
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving goods regularly
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent commitment to maintaining accuracy in all store operations and processes
- Good command of the Serbian language, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers daily
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, public holidays, and rotating shift arrangements as needed
- Basic computer literacy and comfort using digital tools for inventory tracking, order processing, and simple data entry tasks
- A demonstrated record of reliability and punctuality, paired with a positive and cooperative attitude toward team-based work
- High school diploma or an equivalent educational qualification is a mandatory requirement for consideration in this role
Nice to have
- Prior experience working in the food delivery or logistics sector, which provides useful context for understanding store workflows
- Familiarity with inventory management software or point-of-sale systems commonly used in modern retail and grocery environments
- Knowledge of basic health and safety regulations related to food handling, storage temperatures, and general store sanitation practices
- Ability to speak a second language such as English or Hungarian, which can be beneficial when serving diverse customer groups
