Wolt is looking for an Onboarding Specialist to join their team in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This role focuses on guiding new employees through their first days and weeks at the company, ensuring a smooth and productive transition into the organization. The specialist will coordinate orientation sessions, introduce team members across departments, and help newcomers understand company policies, values, and culture. The position plays a key part in creating a welcoming environment that sets employees up for long-term success and engagement within the company.

What you'll do
Coordinate and lead new hire orientation sessions covering company history, values, and organizational structure.
Prepare and distribute onboarding materials such as welcome guides, checklists, and reference documents for each new employee.
Schedule introductory meetings between new employees and their managers, team members, and cross-functional partners during the first week.
Walk new hires through internal tools, systems, and daily workflows to ensure they can perform their duties independently.
Track onboarding progress and follow up with new employees at regular intervals during their first ninety days at the company.
Collaborate with HR and department leads to identify role-specific training needs and arrange relevant learning sessions.
Maintain and update the onboarding knowledge base with current information, process improvements, and frequently asked questions.
Gather feedback from new hires through surveys and conversations to continuously refine and improve the onboarding experience.
Organize team-building activities and informal social events during the initial weeks of employment to build connections.
Serve as a point of contact for new employees who have questions or need assistance during their transition period.
Support the preparation of welcome kits and first-week essentials including equipment access, badges, and workspace setup.
Requirements
Proven experience in onboarding, HR operations, or a related people-focused role with a minimum of two years in the field.
Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes and the ability to manage multiple new hires at the same time.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, and project management platforms is required.
High level of organization and attention to detail when handling documentation, scheduling, and follow-up tasks accurately.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in improving onboarding workflows and internal processes over time.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to shifting priorities and tight timelines without delay.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred for this position.
Experience with data tracking and reporting to measure onboarding effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Nice to have
Experience working in a technology or food delivery company with a distributed workforce across multiple countries.
Familiarity with local labor regulations and employment practices in Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region.
Previous experience designing or improving onboarding programs using data, metrics, and direct employee feedback.
Knowledge of additional languages spoken in Central Asia or Eastern Europe is a valuable advantage.
Prior experience with employee engagement surveys or retention initiatives in a corporate or startup setting.

Slack or similar messaging platforms for coordinating with new hires and internal teams on a daily basis.
HR information systems or dedicated onboarding platforms for managing employee records and tracking progress through stages.
Project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Notion for scheduling tasks and coordinating team workflows.
Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent for preparing presentations, reports, and other written materials for stakeholders.
Video conferencing tools like Zoom or Google Meet for hosting virtual orientation sessions and remote introductions.
