Senior Software Quality Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will architect and build the automated QA framework for the WISEintelligence platform, owning the design of WISEcode's automated quality engineering ecosystem. This is not a traditional manual QA role, and you will function as an engineering-minded quality leader who thinks systematically about correctness, regression prevention, observability, deterministic behavior, and long-term platform reliability. You will partner with engineering leadership, product teams, and Principal Engineers to create a scalable automated testing strategy that evolves alongside the platform while helping establish the technical and cultural foundation for how quality engineering operates at WISEcode. In this role, you will move fluidly between UI automation, backend and API testing, database validation, CI/CD integration, performance and reliability thinking, test architecture, and developer tooling, comfortably reasoning across the entire application stack rather than only isolated test scripts. You will build and evolve automated testing frameworks for ASP.NET and Blazor applications, develop reliable end-to-end UI automation for highly interactive workflows, and create API, integration, and regression testing infrastructure to improve release confidence through intelligent automation and observability.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and implement automated UI testing frameworks for ASP.NET Blazor applications.
- Build reliable end-to-end testing infrastructure using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent modern frameworks.
- Develop API and integration test suites for ASP.NET services.
- Create reusable testing abstractions and patterns that scale across teams and business domains.
- Improve release confidence through regression automation and validation pipelines that catch regressions early.
- Build automated validation around complex nutrition and food intelligence computations to ensure correctness of results.
- Partner with engineers to improve application testability, observability, and the early design of testable systems.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines to enable fast and safe releases.
- Help define quality metrics, failure visibility, and release readiness standards for the platform.
- Investigate intermittent failures, race conditions, state management issues, and environment inconsistencies to stabilize test behavior.
- Contribute to performance, reliability, and scalability testing strategies that reflect real-world usage and load patterns.
- Apply AI-assisted tooling and automation to improve engineering productivity, testing coverage, and debugging workflows.
- Evolve testing practices alongside AI-assisted development and intelligent systems to keep the framework current and effective.
- Provide clear documentation and guidance so that other engineers can extend and maintain the automated testing ecosystem.
- Act as a quality advocate, influencing engineering culture to prioritize testability, reliability, and continuous validation.
Requirements
You must have 5-10+ years of professional software engineering or software quality engineering experience with a strong track record of delivering reliable automation. You will bring strong hands-on experience testing ASP.NET applications, including Blazor, and a deep understanding of how to test rich web user interfaces and stateful interactions. You should be highly comfortable with modern test frameworks, automation toolchains, and scripting to build durable and maintainable test suites. Experience designing and maintaining API, integration, and regression testing infrastructure is essential, as is familiarity with database validation techniques for complex data transformations and analytical workloads. You must be comfortable reasoning across the entire application stack, including complex data pipelines, AI-assisted workflows, and dynamic, stateful user experiences built on Postgres-backed systems like DuckDb and Motherduck. You will work closely with engineering leadership and Principal Engineers, so experience collaborating with senior technical teams and influencing technical standards is required. You should be systematic in your approach to quality, with strong problem-solving skills for intermittent failures, race conditions, and environment-related inconsistencies. Experience contributing to performance, reliability, and scalability testing strategies is expected, along with a mindset focused on long-term platform reliability rather than short-term test scripts.
