Mid/Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

You will perform end-to-end testing of mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms to validate functional behavior and user workflows. You will conduct UI testing and API testing to validate backend communication and messaging, ensuring all layers interact as expected. On the team you will ensure quality across frontend, backend, and integration points by designing robust verification strategies. You will collaborate with developers and product teams to align on testing scope, coverage, and release readiness criteria. You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of automated test suites that support rapid delivery. You will participate in manual exploratory testing for new features when needed to uncover issues automation cannot catch. You will act as a quality advocate, translating requirements into testable conditions and risk-based testing approaches.

What you'll do

• Execute end-to-end testing of mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms, covering happy paths and edge cases.
• Design and implement UI testing suites that validate user interface components, navigation flows, and visual consistency.
• Develop and execute API testing scenarios using REST-assured and Postman to verify backend communication and messaging integrity.
• Ensure quality across frontend, backend, and integration points by coordinating test efforts with development milestones.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to align on testing scope, test coverage objectives, and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automated test suites and testing frameworks.
• Perform manual exploratory testing for new features, documenting findings and reproducing issues to support debugging.
• Validate backend communication and messaging through comprehensive API tests that check request and response accuracy.
• Verify system integration points across mobile clients and services to confirm data consistency and error handling.
• Implement test automation using Java, leveraging Selenide for efficient UI automation on mobile and web contexts.
• Orchestrate test execution and reporting using TestNG to manage test suites, dependencies, and result analysis.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid feedback and reliable release validation.
• Utilize cloud testing platforms such as LambdaTest to expand device and OS coverage across diverse environments.
• Define, maintain, and evolve test plans, test cases, and test data to keep testing aligned with product changes.
• Track and manage defects using bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, providing clear reproduction steps and logs.
• Communicate test progress, risks, and quality metrics to cross-functional teams through reports and discussions.
• Support continuous improvement by reviewing test results, identifying flaky tests, and optimizing automation reliability.
• Apply strong knowledge of software testing principles and QA methodologies to guide testing strategy and best practices.
• Write automated API tests that integrate into CI/CD pipelines, validating business workflows and data transformations.
• Operate within GitLab CI environments, managing pipeline configurations and troubleshooting test execution issues.

Requirements

• You need Middle-Senior experience in software testing and quality assurance, with a proven track record in mobile and automation testing.
• You need Strong knowledge of software testing principles and QA methodologies, including test design, risk assessment, and traceability.
• You need Proficiency in Java for test automation, including object-oriented design and effective use of libraries and frameworks.
• You need Experience with Selenide for UI automation, demonstrating efficient test implementation and selector strategies.
• You need Experience with TestNG for test orchestration and reporting, including annotations, parameterization, and parallel execution.
• You need Experience with LambdaTest or similar cloud testing platforms to execute tests across multiple browsers and devices.
• You need Familiarity with REST-assured, Postman, or similar API testing tools to create, execute, and validate API test scenarios.
• You need Ability to write automated API tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring tests are reliable, maintainable, and fast.
• You need Experience with GitLab CI or similar CI/CD tools to configure, execute, and monitor automated test workflows.
• You need Ability to define and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data, aligning them with product requirements and timelines.
• You need Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, including detailed defect reporting and lifecycle management.
• You need Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams, articulating issues, and collaborating on solutions.
