About the role

You will embed directly within the Operations team at WHOOP, focusing on Manufacturing and Quality streams to connect operational workflows with analytical insight. You will own the definition, tracking, and reporting of key quality metrics that span the entire product lifecycle from production through field performance. This position requires you to build and maintain analytics tools that turn complex operational data into clear, actionable information for non-technical stakeholders. You will partner closely with manufacturing engineers, field quality experts, and reliability teams to surface trends, validate issues, and support data-driven decisions. You will play a central role in developing quality analytics capabilities that enable continuous improvement across supply chain execution. You will help translate ambiguous operational problems into structured analytical questions and deliver concise recommendations. You will act as a bridge between technical data platforms and day-to-day manufacturing operations.

What you'll do

Partner with Field Quality, Manufacturing, and Reliability Engineering teams to define and monitor product quality KPIs across the supply chain.

Own quality metrics reporting on production yields, field failure rates, supplier quality indicators to proactively surface trends related to product build and performance.

Develop and maintain reporting and self-service analytics tooling for operations stakeholders using modern data platforms.

Support ad-hoc analyses for test result validation, issue containment, impact sizing, and failure mode investigations with clear quantification.

Collaborate with Data Platform and Analytics Engineering teams to integrate new relevant quality data sources into Snowflake and build them into usable models.

Help define data capture standards for new processes such as incoming inspection, NPI qualification, and supplier data where structured data does not currently exist.

Translate complex technical data requirements into clear operational guidance so that operations teams can obtain answers without needing a detailed technical background.

Leverage AI tools in day-to-day workflows to assist with analysis, reporting, and data preparation while maintaining high-quality standards.

Perform root cause analysis on quality deviations and translate findings into practical process improvements for manufacturing and field teams.

Develop dashboards and visualizations that track quality metrics in real time, enabling proactive responses to emerging issues.

Support data-driven decisions for supplier quality management by analyzing incoming inspection data and supplier defect trends.

Assist in the design of experiments and data collection plans to validate process changes and measure their impact on quality outcomes.

Document analytical methodologies, data definitions, and insights to ensure transparency and reproducibility across operations.

Communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders through clear narratives and data visualizations.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of data maturity across manufacturing and quality functions by refining data pipelines and governance.

Requirements

Must have 2+ years of experience in an analytical or operational role with a focus on data and analytics.

Functional experience working with quality processes and data is considered a plus for this role.

Must demonstrate experience working with cross-functional partners to use data to drive results and lead initiatives.

Must possess strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Sigma, Hex, or similar platforms.

Must have familiarity with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake and analytics workflows including dbt and ELT practices.

Must show a strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring that AI-assisted work aligns with high-quality standards.

Must be able to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and operational stakeholders.

Must be comfortable operating in evolving environments where processes, systems, and data structures are still being defined and refined.

Must have a proactive mindset with a desire to deeply understand operational processes and drive continuous improvement through data.

Must be prepared to relocate to the WHOOP office in Boston, MA, as the role is based in this location.
