Key facts

What you'll do

Verify the accuracy of short audio transcriptions lasting approximately five seconds to ensure they match the spoken content precisely.

Approve transcriptions that meet quality standards or reject them while providing specific, actionable written feedback to guide improvements.

Identify and correct errors in punctuation, formatting, and strict adherence to the established style guide for German language output.

Support Analysts by delivering constructive feedback that helps them understand mistakes and refine future transcription work.

Flag recurring issues in transcription quality or consistency to the project lead so they can be addressed at a systemic level.

Maintain a high level of focus on linguistic detail, including correct application of German capitalization rules, compound words, and sentence structure.

Ensure all reviewed content complies with project guidelines and maintains the cultural and contextual appropriateness for German speakers.

Work independently within a remote environment, managing your time effectively to meet weekly commitments without direct supervision.

Contribute to the overall integrity of the AI training dataset by consistently applying quality standards across all reviewed audio segments.

Act as a final checkpoint in the transcription workflow, providing reliable and trustworthy verification before data is used for model training.

Communicate clearly and professionally in writing when documenting feedback or reporting systemic problems to the project leadership team.

Adapt to the fast-paced nature of the project, where turnaround times are important and accuracy must never be compromised.

Support the broader goals of the Welo Data project by helping to create AI tools that are more inclusive and culturally relevant for German users.

Demonstrate reliability and consistency over the six-week project duration, with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.

Requirements

You must be a native or near-native speaker of German with exceptional written language abilities.

You must possess strong written language skills, including a keen awareness of punctuation rules and correct sentence structure in German.

You must have a reliable computer, high-quality headphones, and a stable internet connection to perform remote verification work.

You must be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a remote freelance environment.

You must have a keen attention to detail and the ability to apply structured guidelines consistently across all tasks.

You must be available to commit between 10 and 20 hours per week for the duration of up to 6 weeks as required by the project timeline.

You must be able to start the work as soon as possible to meet the immediate needs of the transcription verification process.

You must demonstrate reliability and professionalism in communication, feedback delivery, and adherence to project standards.

Practical notes

This is a freelance-remote position based in Luxembourg with a compensation rate of $31.90 per hour.
