What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement scalable crypto products that enable users to manage their digital assets efficiently and securely.
• Build and maintain integrations with leading decentralized exchanges (DEXs), DeFi protocols, and wallet services to facilitate seamless asset transfers and trading experiences.
• Develop and enhance stablecoin infrastructure, including smart contracts, backend systems, and on-chain transaction processes, to support trading, transfers, and financial operations.
• Expand the platform's capabilities by adding new stablecoins and digital assets, improving product features, and optimizing user experience.
• Collaborate closely with blockchain engineers, product managers, and security teams to ensure the stability, security, and compliance of crypto products.
• Contribute to the development of smart contracts, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
• Implement best practices for blockchain development, including code reviews, testing, and deployment procedures.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in blockchain technology, DeFi, and cryptocurrencies, and incorporate relevant advancements into the platform.
• Work on integrating blockchain solutions with existing financial systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and data accuracy.
• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues related to crypto infrastructure and blockchain integrations.
• Assist in establishing technical standards and documentation for blockchain development within Wealthsimple.
• Support the team in maintaining high levels of system security, including key management, multi-signature setups, and transaction validation processes.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of system reliability and performance, including monitoring and alerting for blockchain-related services.
• Engage in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative team environment.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

• Proven experience in blockchain or crypto development, with a strong understanding of decentralized finance protocols.
• Hands-on experience with integrating decentralized exchanges (DEXs), wallets, stablecoins, and smart contract platforms.
• Deep knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, including transaction mechanics, gas optimization, security practices, and network protocols.
• Practical experience working with Ethereum and familiarity with Layer 2 scaling solutions.
• Experience developing, deploying, and interacting with smart contracts, particularly on the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of DeFi protocols, including automated market makers (AMMs), liquidity pools, and decentralized lending platforms.
• Knowledge of crypto security best practices, including key management, multi-signature wallets, and transaction validation.
• Proficiency with Web3 development libraries such as ethers.js and web3.js.
• Experience with full stack development using languages and frameworks like React, React Native, Ruby on Rails, Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

• Willingness to stay updated on blockchain developments, security standards, and industry regulations.
