Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the recovery process for Waymo's autonomous vehicles, ensuring they are retrieved safely and efficiently from various locations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement recovery protocols that prioritize safety and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and analyze vehicle recovery data to identify trends and areas for improvement in operational efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics for vehicle transport, including scheduling and route planning to optimize recovery efforts.
- Conduct regular safety audits and assessments of recovery operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices for vehicle recovery and safety procedures.
- Serve as a point of contact for external partners and stakeholders involved in the recovery process, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to recovery operations, including incident reports and safety evaluations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and feedback to enhance recovery strategies and logistics workflows.
- Stay informed about advancements in autonomous vehicle technology and recovery methodologies, integrating new insights into operational practices.
- Assist in the development of training materials and programs for new hires within the Vehicle Recovery team.
- Support emergency response efforts as needed, ensuring that recovery operations can adapt to unexpected situations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, vehicle recovery, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in vehicle recovery operations.
- Proven ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for recovery operations.
- Proficiency in using logistics and fleet management software, with a strong aptitude for technology.

- Experience in training and mentoring team members in a logistics or recovery environment.
