What you'll do
- Design and develop hardware architecture for autonomous vehicle systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with software engineers to define hardware-software interfaces and integration points for seamless functionality.
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate hardware designs against performance metrics and safety standards.
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams in the development of prototypes and proof-of-concept hardware solutions.

- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of hardware architecture, design specifications, and testing protocols.

- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to hardware architecture and autonomous systems.

- Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of hardware systems in real-world testing environments to refine designs based on performance data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware architecture design, preferably in the automotive or robotics industries.
- Proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, and experience with FPGA design.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit design, signal integrity, and power distribution.
- Experience with hardware testing methodologies, including DFT (Design for Test) and validation processes.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and their application in hardware design.
- Knowledge of automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 or ASIL.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink for hardware design validation.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or with agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of software development processes and programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
Skills & tools
- Hardware design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, or similar).
- Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment for hardware testing.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for collaborative development.
- Experience with project management tools to track progress and manage timelines effectively.
