What you'll do
- Design and implement innovative machine learning architectures tailored for real-time processing in autonomous vehicles.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate machine learning models into the vehicle's software stack.
- Analyze and optimize existing algorithms to improve their performance and reduce latency in decision-making processes.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of various machine learning techniques in real-world driving scenarios.
- Work with data scientists to curate and preprocess large datasets that are essential for training machine learning models.
- Develop tools and frameworks that facilitate the testing and validation of machine learning systems in simulated environments.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality software development practices.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, applying relevant findings to enhance our systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing your knowledge and expertise in machine learning and system architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Document your work meticulously, contributing to the knowledge base that supports ongoing development and future projects.
- Present findings and progress to stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable insights for non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or artificial intelligence.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in machine learning, with a strong emphasis on algorithm design and optimization.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with a solid understanding of software development principles.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time processing constraints in automotive applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in developing machine learning models specifically for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
- Knowledge of computer vision techniques and their application in real-time systems.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and distributed computing frameworks.
- Experience with simulation tools used for testing autonomous systems, such as CARLA or Gazebo.
- Understanding of safety-critical systems and relevant industry standards, such as ISO 26262.
