About the role
The is a specialized technical role focused on the intersection of project scheduling, commercial risk, and contract management within complex capital projects. The successful candidate will own the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules, ensuring they accurately reflect design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. This position requires a deep understanding of how schedule logic directly impacts commercial exposure, entitlements, and project profitability. You will be responsible for performing detailed critical path and delay analysis to quantify the schedule impact of variations, changes, and contractor claims. A core part of this role involves preparing and reviewing Extension of Time submissions, providing forensic schedule support during disputes, and translating technical schedule data into clear commercial implications. The position demands close collaboration with commercial, contracts, procurement, and legal teams to ensure alignment between the project execution timeline and contractual requirements. You will validate contractor progress claims against the baseline schedule and physical progress, supporting continuous improvement in commercial and scheduling practices. This role is essential for protecting the client's financial interests and ensuring project delivery is managed with both technical precision and commercial acumen.

What you'll do
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (Primavera P6) incorporating design procurement construction and commissioning activities.
- Align schedule structures WBS and activity coding with contract packages and commercial reporting requirements.
- Support development of procurement schedules and long-lead item tracking coordinated with commercial and supply chain teams.
- Perform critical path and delay analysis to assess schedule impact of variations changes and contractor claims.
- Prepare and review Extension of Time EOT submissions and supporting schedule evidence.
- Support forensic schedule analysis in the event of disputes or claims.
- Provide schedule-based input to variation assessments change orders and contractor entitlement evaluations.
- Support commercial/contracts team in reviewing contractor schedule submissions for compliance with contractual requirements.
- Assist in evaluating tender programmes and schedule assumptions during bid evaluation.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedules identifying variances and their commercial implications.
- Prepare schedule and commercial risk reports for project leadership highlighting areas of exposure.
- Support integration of cost and schedule data for combined performance reporting (e.g. EVM).
- Work closely with planning cost control procurement and legal/commercial teams to ensure alignment between schedule and contractual positions.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in planning/scheduling roles with a strong commercial or contractual dimension ideally within EPC or large-scale construction.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 including resource and cost loading.
- Working knowledge of contract forms (e.g. FIDIC) variations and claims/EOT processes.
- Strong analytical and critical path analysis skills with a commercial mindset.
- Ability to translate schedule data into clear commercial and contractual implications.
- Clear communicator able to work effectively with planning commercial and legal stakeholders.
- You need Fluent English required.
