Key facts

What you'll do

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of high-performance systems from concept through to production deployment, ensuring they meet the needs of our users.
• Take full ownership of features, managing their entire lifecycle from initial development to ongoing maintenance and improvement.
• Develop features and APIs for concurrent applications, primarily using Golang, to enhance the functionality of our systems.
• Implement and refine geometric and graph algorithms that are critical to our product's routing capabilities.
• Manage the reliability and stability of existing server applications built in Python and Java, ensuring they operate smoothly.
• Write production-quality code that is not only efficient but also maintainable and optimized for high performance.
• Focus on improving application performance, uptime, and scalability while adhering to best coding practices and design principles.
• Conduct performance benchmarks and create analysis scripts to work with geographical data, driving insights that enhance our offerings.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is essential; a Master's degree would be an advantage.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on software development experience, with strong skills in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• At least 2 years of professional experience specifically with Python is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud services like AWS is a plus, enhancing your ability to work with our infrastructure.
• A solid grasp of core software engineering principles, including data structures, multithreading, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Proven experience in building and scaling distributed systems that are highly available and reliable.
• A quick learner who can effectively adapt to new technologies and concepts as needed.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and software architecture best practices.
• A passion for solving algorithmic challenges related to transportation and routing systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, thriving in fast-paced environments.
• A proactive approach to ownership, capable of driving projects from start to finish.
• Ability to break down complex problems into simpler components and deliver effective, straightforward solutions.
