About the role
Verve is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join their growing team in New York. This role carries significant responsibility for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through systematic testing and thorough analysis. The Senior QA Analyst will work closely with development teams, product managers, and engineering leads to identify defects early, validate core functionality, and uphold high standards across every deliverable. This is a full-time position based in the New York office, where the analyst will contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Design and execute manual and automated test plans for web and mobile applications across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define test coverage priorities and acceptance criteria for each feature
- Write detailed bug reports and document defects with clear, reproducible steps that developers can follow easily
- Conduct regression testing to verify that new code changes do not break existing features or workflows
- Review requirements and user stories to identify potential edge cases, boundary conditions, and quality risks
- Develop and maintain test scripts using industry-standard automated testing frameworks for efficient and repeatable execution
- Participate actively in sprint planning meetings and provide QA input on feature feasibility and testability
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover issues that are not captured by scripted test cases or automation
- Lead QA efforts for new product launches and major version releases, coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Mentor junior QA team members and share best practices for testing workflows and defect documentation
- Analyze test results and produce clear, actionable summaries for stakeholders, leadership, and development teams
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and any relevant external regulatory guidelines applicable to the product
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is required for this role
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience in quality assurance or software testing roles within a professional setting
- Demonstrated experience writing and executing comprehensive test plans for complex software systems with multiple integrated components
- Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript fundamentals as they relate to testing
- Familiarity with API testing tools and RESTful service validation and testing methods for backend integration checks
- Proven ability to communicate technical findings and test results clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences
- Experience working in an agile development environment with iterative release cycles, daily standups, and sprint retrospectives
- Proficiency with defect tracking tools and test management platforms is required for tracking and reporting defects efficiently
Nice to have
- Prior experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration testing workflows is highly valued in this role
- Knowledge of performance testing tools and load testing methodologies is considered a helpful addition to the skill set
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design testing practices is strongly helpful for ensuring broad usability
- Background in financial technology or regulated industry testing environments is preferred given the nature of the products
