What you'll do
- Conduct thorough assessments of our current cybersecurity measures and identify vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors.
- Develop and implement robust security protocols and policies to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for unusual activity, responding promptly to potential security incidents and breaches.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and deploy security solutions that align with our business objectives and risk management strategies.
- Provide training and awareness programs for staff to promote a culture of cybersecurity and ensure everyone understands their role in protecting company assets.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our security practices.

- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, findings, and recommendations for improvement to share with management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience in the event of a security breach.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities and share best practices.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Strong understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Proficiency in security assessment tools and techniques, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Experience with incident response and forensic analysis is a plus.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of cloud security practices and tools, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ for automation of security tasks.
- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
- Understanding of data encryption technologies and secure coding practices.
- Previous experience in a government or defense contracting environment is advantageous.
