What you'll do
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and clients, to gather and clarify business requirements for new and ongoing projects.
- Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring they are clear, concise, and actionable.
- Develop detailed requirement specifications that serve as a foundation for system design and development.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit requirements and validate them with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Create use cases, user stories, and process flows to illustrate requirements and enhance understanding among team members.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current capabilities and desired outcomes, proposing solutions to bridge those gaps.
- Assist in the development of test plans and acceptance criteria to ensure that delivered solutions meet the specified requirements.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to stakeholders, addressing any changes in requirements or project scope as necessary.
- Support the training of end-users and provide documentation to facilitate a smooth transition to new systems or processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing insights based on user feedback and project outcomes.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in requirements analysis and project management, applying this knowledge to enhance Utrs' methodologies.
- Mentor junior analysts and support their professional development by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in requirements analysis or business analysis, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Proven experience in gathering and documenting requirements using various techniques, including interviews, surveys, and workshops.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools and software, such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with project management principles and tools is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).
- Experience in the defense or government contracting sectors, particularly with military or defense-related projects.
- Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and user-centered design methodologies.
