About the role
At Tnuck, we are seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic team in Washington, District of Columbia. This full-time position offers an to contribute to the design and user experience of our digital products. As a UX/UI Designer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance our customers' experience. Your creative vision will play a crucial role in shaping the visual identity of our brand and ensuring that our digital platforms are user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and understand user needs, ensuring that design solutions align with business goals.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback, translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.
- Create and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital platforms.
- Design user interfaces for web and mobile applications, focusing on usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design, applying new knowledge to enhance our products.
- Collaborate with developers during the implementation phase to ensure that designs are executed accurately and meet quality standards.
- Analyze user behavior and metrics to inform design decisions and iterate on existing products for continuous improvement.
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, articulating the value of design choices and advocating for user-centered solutions.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the overall creative direction of the team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Assist in the onboarding and mentoring of junior designers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, demonstrating your ability to create user-centered designs.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability testing methodologies, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to think critically and solve complex design challenges with innovative solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience with motion design or animation to enhance user interactions.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools to measure user engagement and inform design decisions.
- Previous experience in a startup environment, showcasing adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Understanding of branding and marketing principles to align design with business objectives.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in design software such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with prototyping tools like InVision or Axure for creating interactive mockups.
- Knowledge of user research methods, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first design strategies.
- Ability to create and maintain design documentation, including style guides and design specifications.
