Senior Professional Engineer
Job description
About the role
Senior Project Manager / Senior PE
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager or Professional Engineer to lead complex initiatives within the transportation and municipal/government sectors. This role is integral to our project delivery lifecycle. You will partner with experts in civil, water resources, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering to manage and execute multi-discipline projects. Your work will ensure designs are delivered on schedule, meet rigorous standards, and provide effective solutions for our clients.
Our organization operates with a "Seller-Doer" philosophy, embedding business development directly into project execution. In this capacity, you will work closely with your Group Manager, the Northwest Regional Vice President, and Market Managers. Together, you will identify and pursue new opportunities, refine our service offerings, and strengthen our market position. Success in this role involves crafting marketing strategies, building long-term client partnerships, engaging with agency representatives, monitoring the pipeline, and authoring compelling proposals. You will also be responsible for presenting our technical solutions to stakeholders in a clear and persuasive manner.
The team is owned by its employees and is structured across multiple disciplines. Collaboration is the cornerstone of our methodology, driving innovation and ensuring every project is delivered with a focus on cost efficiency and proactive risk management. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on the communities we serve while growing your career in a hybrid work setting. Our current schedule allows for remote work on Monday and Friday, with in-office collaboration on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
You will own the end-to-end management of projects, from initial client contact through final delivery. This includes defining project scope, aligning internal resources, and guiding the project team to successful outcomes. You will serve as the primary liaison between technical staff and executive leadership, ensuring alignment between technical execution and business objectives.
Your daily contributions will include the development and maintenance of comprehensive project plans. You will coordinate the workflows of civil, water resources, electrical, mechanical, and structural teams to ensure integration and cohesion. Leading technical design reviews is a core function, where you will assess outputs for compliance with standards, client requirements, and potential risks. You will manage the transition of approved designs into construction documentation, ensuring the process is efficient and accurate.
Business development is a parallel cornerstone of this role. You will establish and maintain strategic roadmaps that support marketing initiatives and foster long-term growth. This involves cultivating relationships with clients and agency representatives to identify and secure new opportunities. You will rigorously evaluate prospective projects, assessing them against defined criteria for feasibility, value, and strategic alignment. A critical part of this function is authoring clear, persuasive proposal narratives that articulate our methodology, value proposition, and risk mitigation strategies. Finally, you will deliver presentations that translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must hold a valid Professional Engineering license applicable to civil infrastructure. You are required to have a minimum of three years of experience managing projects in transportation or municipal/government environments. A proven ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional technical teams is essential. Superior written and verbal communication skills are mandatory for effective collaboration with both internal partners and external clients.
Compensation and Location
This is a full-time, salaried position based in Seattle, Washington. The compensation package offers a base salary of $69,912.00 annually. This role is classified as Senior level and carries significant responsibility for project success and business growth.
Work Environment
We maintain a hybrid work model to support flexibility and collaboration. The schedule requires presence in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Monday and Friday.
