What you'll do
- Architect and deploy hosting platforms on Google Cloud Platform while managing databases and application servers to ensure optimal performance.
- Engineer and refine continuous delivery pipelines in collaboration with clients to automate software release lifecycles and reduce manual intervention.
- Serve as a subject matter expert providing guidance on cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering methodologies.
- Liaise with engineering leadership to align technical strategies with business objectives and drive technology decision-making processes.
- Analyze and monitor system performance, security postures, and availability metrics to guarantee project deliverables exceed expectations.
- Mentor and develop the internal Thoughtworks cloud practice through structured knowledge sharing sessions and capability building initiatives.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure resilience and support innovative client solutions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing infrastructure to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization on GCP.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to gather requirements and translate them into actionable infrastructure implementation plans.
- Document architectural decisions and operational procedures to maintain clarity and ensure knowledge continuity for the team.
Requirements
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in both English and Spanish for effective communication with diverse client teams and stakeholders.
- Possess substantial experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale hosting environments utilizing Google Cloud Platform technologies.
- Have hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and a variety of CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Show proficiency in at least one scripting language and have practical experience building and managing Linux, Windows, or container-based clusters.
- Exhibit deep knowledge of infrastructure as code principles, virtualization technologies, and application runtime platforms including serverless architectures and container orchestration systems.
- Display a strong understanding of security fundamentals covering secrets management, network security configurations, and supply chain protection mechanisms.
- Prove the ability to communicate intricate technical concepts clearly to both technical specialists and non-technical business stakeholders.
