About the role
You will own the strategic direction and execution of Vault Core, defining the product vision that keeps our platform at the forefront of banking infrastructure. You will act as the critical bridge between deeply technical engineering teams and high-value global banking clients, ensuring the platform solves real-world problems. This role requires you to evangelize the platform's capabilities both externally to clients and internally across the business to drive adoption. You will lead complex decisions around data integrity, performance at scale, and developer experience in a cloud-native banking environment. You will translate client feedback into actionable product requirements that engineering can rapidly execute against. This position demands comfort with ambiguity as you navigate the hard challenges of core banking technology. Ultimately, you will ensure that the platform delivers measurable outcomes for clients and reinforces Thought Machine's leadership in modern banking infrastructure.

What you'll do
Define and drive the end-to-end strategy for Vault Core, ensuring the platform remains the industry leader in configurability, performance, and resilience across diverse banking products.
Champion Vault Core externally and internally, articulating the platform's vision and technical capabilities to excite current and potential clients around the scale of ambition.
Represent the world's largest banks and their developers internally, collecting feedback and ensuring the platform meets the highest standards of quality and usability.
Guide complex client implementations in collaboration with the Client Services team, aligning product requirements with the technical capabilities of the Vault Core engine.
Drive the adoption of rigorous Product Management best practices and processes, working closely with Engineering Managers across the core engine domain.
Write simple scripts in languages such as Python to validate concepts, automate tasks, and support technical discussions regarding smart contract logic and platform behavior.
Analyze trade-offs between foundational system properties like consistency and availability, translating these debates into clear product decisions and requirements.
Engage directly with Enterprise Architects and CTOs, maintaining strong client-facing interpersonal skills while navigating highly technical conversations.
Enable engineering teams to remain laser-focused on solving core banking problems by synthesizing client needs into clear, actionable product specifications.
Ensure the platform delivers outstanding user experiences for the wide variety of banks and their unique products, accommodating different ways of working and operational models.
Build alignment across Engineering, GTM, and Customer Success to ensure platform capabilities translate into high adoption and tangible business outcomes.
Continuously evaluate the platform against market and competitor benchmarks, identifying opportunities to strengthen Thought Machine's position as an industry innovator.
Lead cross-functional initiatives that cut across product, engineering, and client services to resolve strategic challenges and improve the overall banking ecosystem.
Act as a thought leader within the organization, contributing to the broader product strategy and influencing long-term roadmap decisions for the banking platform.
Requirements
You bring 5+ years of product management experience in a product-led technology company, with a strong background in highly technical or infrastructure domains.
You possess a proven track record of delivering deeply technical, API-driven, or infrastructure products that serve complex enterprise customers.
You are able to think from first principles, engaging with complex technical ideas such as consistency versus availability in distributed ledgers and rapidly learning new concepts.
You demonstrate strong client-facing interpersonal skills, equally capable of engaging in detailed technical conversations with Enterprise Architects and CTOs.
You are comfortable writing simple scripts in languages such as Python, the language that powers our Smart Contracts, to support validation and technical exploration.
You thrive at the intersection of technical depth and high-level product strategy, balancing commercial instincts with rigorous engineering considerations.
You have the ability to build alignment and influence stakeholders across engineering, go-to-market, and customer success functions to drive platform adoption.
You understand that client success depends on a platform that is not only functional but delivers best-in-class design, performance, and resilience for demanding banking workloads.
Nice to have
Experience working in regulated industries such as banking or financial services, providing an intuitive understanding of the sector's constraints and requirements.
Prior experience as a software engineer or in a highly technical role, offering deeper insight into implementation challenges.
Experience building enterprise software or working within a B2B infrastructure or platform vendor, exposing you to the nuances of selling into large organizations.
