What you'll do
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of commercial and regulatory legal functions critical to THG's operations. You will analyze complex commercial scenarios and determine the optimal legal strategy for negotiating supplier and customer agreements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. You will draft, review, and negotiate manufacturing agreements, paying close attention to terms that protect the company's operational and financial interests. In addition, you will evaluate and manage licensing agreements related to intellectual property rights within the beauty and nutrition sectors, ensuring that all licensed assets are properly protected and utilized in compliance with applicable law. You will conduct thorough legal research to provide clear, concise advice on distribution contracts and marketplace agreements, identifying potential risks and proposing practical solutions. This will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into legally sound documentation. You will also advise senior management on litigation matters and potential liabilities, helping to develop strategies that minimize exposure and protect the company's reputation. Furthermore, you will review and refine contract management processes to improve both efficiency and compliance, ensuring that all legal documentation supports growth initiatives without compromising regulatory standards. An important part of the role will include providing training and guidance to internal teams on legal best practices and contractual obligations, fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.
Requirements
To be considered for this Senior Legal Counsel position, you must possess a law degree, which is an essential requirement for the role. In addition, you must have a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience gained within a reputable law firm or legal department, demonstrating a proven track record in commercial legal matters. A valid practicing certificate is mandatory, as this role requires you to provide independent legal advice and representation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are critical, as you will often be called upon to assess multifaceted legal issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent negotiation skills are equally important, as you will need to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and third-party partners to secure favorable outcomes. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner. You must also be capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
