Compensation: The target salary range for 2025 is $85,000 to $110,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily contributions will focus on the technical and collaborative aspects of site development. Core duties include analyzing proposed intake areas and verifying all necessary data is collected prior to design. You will develop grading and site layout strategies that respect existing site conditions and applicable regulations. A critical function involves managing the review process, ensuring feedback is communicated effectively between internal teams and external clients. You will coordinate with other discipline consultants to confirm that civil components integrate smoothly into the overall project schedule. Creating clear documentation that outlines engineering decisions for municipal authorities and community stakeholders is essential. This includes the development of plans and specifications that serve as the basis for construction. You will also build and maintain project schedules, taking into account seasonal limitations and practical field constraints. Defining survey requirements to establish precise site models and layout points is a standard task. You will formulate preliminary storm water management concepts to handle runoff and safeguard surrounding areas. Throughout construction, you will monitor design implementation to verify that proposed solutions are practical and executable. Finally, you will maintain all project deliverables, updating documents as regulations change and project specifics evolve.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria. You must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license. A minimum of three years of post-licensure experience focused on site layout and grading design is required. You should have a solid grasp of earthwork principles, surface water drainage, and the practical application of governing codes. Proficiency in interpreting survey information and utilizing design software to produce construction-ready drawings is mandatory. You must be able to convey complex engineering concepts clearly in both written reports and verbal discussions with clients, officials, and stakeholders. Employment authorization in the United States must be available, and sponsorship for immigration assistance is not available for this role.
Valued Experience
While not mandatory, the following experiences are highly regarded. Familiarity with regional design guidelines and local municipal permitting procedures is advantageous.
