What you'll do

• Lead the design and optimization of process systems for carbon capture plants, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and environmental standards.
• Conduct thorough process simulations and modeling to identify areas for improvement and to validate design concepts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to integrate process designs with plant operations.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Oversee the commissioning and startup of new process systems, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies, to communicate project progress and address any concerns.
• Stay abreast of industry advancements and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into plant processes.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals and technical reports, showcasing Bamboohr's capabilities and expertise in carbon capture technology.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the chemical, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of process design principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar tools.
• Experience with process control systems and instrumentation, including PID control and DCS systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the industrial sector.

Nice to have

• Experience with carbon capture technologies or renewable energy systems.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within an engineering team.
• Familiarity with safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.
