What you'll do
- Collaborate with game development teams to design and implement live operations features that enhance player engagement and retention.
- Monitor game performance metrics and player feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Develop and maintain tools and systems that support live operations, ensuring they are robust and scalable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during live operations, working closely with QA and support teams to ensure timely fixes.
- Create and maintain documentation related to live operations processes, tools, and best practices for future reference.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, share insights, and align on priorities.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code standards and adherence to best practices.
- Engage with the player community to gather feedback and insights that can inform future updates and features.
- Collaborate with marketing and community management teams to coordinate live events and promotions that enhance player engagement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation within our live operations framework.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
- Contribute to the overall development of the engineering team by sharing knowledge and participating in team-building activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, preferably in the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or Java, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with live operations in gaming, including familiarity with tools and processes used to manage game updates and player engagement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, and agile development methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud services and infrastructure, particularly in relation to game hosting and live operations.
- Knowledge of game analytics tools and techniques for measuring player engagement and performance metrics.
- Previous experience in a player-facing role, such as community management or customer support, is a plus.
- Familiarity with console development and the unique challenges associated with console game operations.
Skills & tools
