What you'll do
- Oversee the planning and logistics of clinical supplies, ensuring that all materials are available for clinical trials in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams to forecast supply needs based on trial designs and timelines.
- Manage inventory levels of clinical supplies, including raw materials and finished products, to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to procure clinical materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation related to supply chain activities, including shipping records, inventory reports, and compliance documentation.
- Implement and optimize processes for the storage and distribution of clinical supplies, ensuring adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Participate in risk management activities by identifying potential supply chain disruptions and developing contingency plans.
- Support audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation and evidence of compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the clinical trial management team to ensure alignment on supply needs and timelines, facilitating effective communication across departments.
- Analyze supply chain performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist in the development of budgets related to clinical supplies and logistics, tracking expenditures against forecasts.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in clinical supply chain management to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, supply chain management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical supplies management or logistics within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements related to clinical supplies.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and supply chain software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Nice to have
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Familiarity with clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics management.
- Previous experience in a start-up or rapidly growing company environment.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, ISM) is a plus.
