What you'll do

Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of all features and functionalities.
Identify, document, and track defects using our issue tracking system, ensuring clear communication with the development team for timely resolution.
Participate in daily stand-up meetings and sprint reviews to provide updates on testing progress and share insights on potential improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and user stories, ensuring that all aspects of the product are thoroughly tested.
Conduct regression testing to verify that new features do not negatively impact existing functionality.
Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues that may not be covered by formal test cases.
Assist in maintaining and updating the QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and testing methodologies to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
Support the automation of testing processes where applicable, learning to use tools that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in testing.
Engage in peer reviews of test cases and documentation to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to further develop your skills and knowledge in quality assurance practices.
Provide feedback on the overall user experience and suggest improvements based on testing results and user insights.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with software testing methodologies and processes, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey testing results and collaborate with team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive attitude towards learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Nice to have

Experience with automated testing tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is a plus.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git, for managing code and documentation.
Previous internship or project experience in software development or quality assurance.
Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and the importance of usability in software design.

Skills & tools

Proficiency in using testing tools and software for bug tracking and test management.
Basic knowledge of SQL for database testing and validation.
Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand front-end testing requirements.
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) to track progress and collaborate with the team.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
