Spin is on the lookout for a skilled backend software engineer to enhance and expand its sophisticated software systems. In this position, you will take the lead in maintaining high standards of code quality, integrating various APIs, and shaping technical workflows. What you'll do
- Design, develop, and optimize backend software solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
- Facilitate code review sessions to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Develop and manage APIs that facilitate communication between internal and external systems.
- Establish and refine processes throughout the software development lifecycle to enhance efficiency.
- Deploy and oversee containerized applications to ensure they are scalable and efficient.
- Work closely with Architecture, Data Management, and DevOps teams during agile sprints to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Document functional and non-functional requirements as user stories in JIRA for clarity and tracking.
- Convert business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system architectures, processes, and tools.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline deployment and other operational tasks.
- Manage version control processes, including branching and merging strategies, to maintain code integrity.
- Monitor and maintain production systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to identify and resolve scalability and performance issues.
- Mentor team members, promoting self-management and accountability within the group.
- Act as a cultural ambassador, fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace environment.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, demonstrating a solid track record in the field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in Java development within a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate frameworks.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Knowledge of build tools like Maven and Gradle, as well as CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Sonar Cloud.
- A thorough understanding of design patterns, software architecture principles, and SOLID design principles.
- Practical experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
- Proven experience in secure software development practices, utilizing Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) tools.
- Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and JIRA for project management.
- Experience in building microservices and working with REST and RESTful APIs.
- An API-first design approach is essential.
- Demonstrated experience with containerization technologies.
- Proficiency in Git, including conflict resolution and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide projects and teams while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies within the Spin and Digital@FEMSA tech ecosystems.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Nice to have
- Experience in managing application and system configurations to ensure consistency across environments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with AWS for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
