What you'll do
- Orchestrate the assembly procedures for new model launches, directing activity across multiple workstations to ensure synchronization.
- Program and supervise automated manufacturing equipment, performing adjustments that maximize machine uptime and output quality.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production anomalies, implementing immediate fixes to maintain adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
- Validate new hardware initiatives and develop scalable processes that facilitate smooth transitions from design to mass production.
- Monitor and manage the seamless movement of products from initial development phases to full-scale manufacturing execution.
- Analyze yield rates, cost structures, and performance indicators to identify opportunities for incremental and strategic enhancements.
- Design and enforce preventative maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment to minimize unexpected downtime.
- Identify non-conforming items and instigate corrective actions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Partner with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of operations and real-time communication across departments.
- Record all procedural steps and maintain meticulous records to support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional training and development to remain current with evolving industry standards and best practices.
- Promote a work environment that prioritizes safety protocols and operational efficiency on the manufacturing floor.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline, or a high school diploma accompanied by a minimum of three years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
- Be recognized as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to satisfy ITAR regulatory obligations.
- Possess the physical capability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unaided and to perform strenuous activities such as bending, climbing, and prolonged standing.
- Accept the necessity to travel to vendor locations or external facilities, which may involve international journeys.
- Successfully complete a compulsory 30-day training period during the first shift, running from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the start of employment.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work across all assigned shifts, including Shift A, Shift B, Shift C, and Shift D, as well as any required overtime and weekend hours.
Nice to have
- Hold an associate or bachelor's degree in mathematics, the sciences, or engineering, though this is not mandatory.
- Show familiarity with J-STD-001 Class 2 or IPC-A-610 Class 2 hardware assembly standards.
- Have hands-on experience with electrical testing methodologies, such as bed of nails fixtures or in-circuit testing procedures.
- Bring experience in operating automated machinery, including solder paste inspection systems, pick and place robots, reflow ovens, AOI and X-ray inspection units, adhesive dispensers, and BGA rework equipment.
- Understand the use and navigation of ERP, MRP, or MES software platforms to effectively manage production workflows.
Practical notes
The initial phase of employment requires participation in first shift hours, specifically from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for the duration of the first month. Following the completion of training, the role will require 12-hour rotating shifts. These shifts include Shift A (Sunday through Tuesday, plus every other Wednesday), Shift B (Thursday through Saturday, plus every other Wednesday), Shift C (Sunday through Tuesday, plus every other Wednesday), and Shift D (Thursday through Saturday, plus every other Wednesday). Candidates who are able to work the B and D shifts will be given priority consideration.
