Key facts
What you'll do
- Ensure facility operations align with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, TRRC, RWQCB, and NEPA guidelines.
- Conduct job hazard assessments and implement safety procedures in partnership with department leads.
- Monitor chemical and physical exposure levels for employees.
- Design and integrate machine guarding solutions.
- Perform facility and equipment audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Investigate industrial accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Manage emergency response plans for spills, fires, and other incidents.
- Oversee technician compliance through daily communication and safety inspections.
- Maintain documentation for local AQMD permitted sources and Certified Unified Program Agency requirements.
- Execute comprehensive risk assessments for all operational activities to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Develop and update safety policies to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to embed safety into every phase of project execution.
- Analyze incident trends to drive systemic improvements in workplace safety culture.
- Provide technical guidance on environmental controls and hazard mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety operational oversight and design.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in Hawthorne, CA, with occasional extended hours and weekends.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental compliance and safety management systems.
- Capability to interpret and apply complex regulatory standards in a technical environment.
- Strong ability to conduct investigations and report findings accurately.
- Willingness to adhere to strict company protocols and safety policies.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
