This role builds and maintains the core SaaS platform for a venture-backed company modernizing the waste and recycling industry. You will contribute to a digital platform that serves business users and supports sustainability goals for organizations of all sizes. The position is full time based in Jersey City.

Design and implement digital platform solutions aligned with business requirements, enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
Develop and maintain the software platform so it meets evolving stakeholder needs and supports scalable operations.
Translate business requirements into technical requirements that guide the design and implementation of software solutions.
Deliver core platform features using React UI and Node microservices backed by Postgres, ensuring reliability and performance.
Integrate search and analytics capabilities using Elasticsearch to support querying and reporting across large datasets.
Operate and maintain software on AWS using services such as S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Redshift for resilient cloud infrastructure.
Apply Test-Driven Development practices to ensure code quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
Write test cases that validate functionality and prevent regressions across the platform.
Create build scripts to automate development, testing, and deployment workflows.
Integrate caching layers using Redis or Memcached to improve application performance when needed.
Explore machine learning methods where appropriate to enhance platform capabilities.
Support mobile and tablet experiences where relevant through Flutter when applicable.
Use stream processing tools such as Kafka when handling real-time data flows.
Leverage analytics platforms like BigQuery and visualization tools like Metabase for insights.
Contribute to vertical SaaS ERP software components when required by product needs.
Requirements
The posting states a bachelor's degree requirement. 3+ years of professional experience building with Typescript, React, Node, or Go.
3+ years of experience working with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience building systems using a microservices architecture on AWS.
Strong understanding of data structures, indexing, and searching to support efficient queries.
Ability to integrate with Elasticsearch and run queries or reports against indexed data.
Experience with AWS services including S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Redshift.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development and writing clear test cases.
Experience with build scripts and automation in version control, CI/CD pipelines, and workflow tools.
Comfort working with Redis or Memcached for caching and performance optimization.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform for infrastructure management when needed.
Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka when applicable.
Familiarity with analytics tools like BigQuery and Metabase for reporting and insights.
Experience developing Vertical SaaS ERP software is a plus when relevant to product scope.

Experience with Flutter for cross-platform mobile and tablet development.
