What you'll do
- Assist senior attorneys in preparing legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development, utilizing various legal databases and resources.
- Participate in client meetings, taking notes and providing input on legal strategies and potential outcomes.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progression.
- Review and analyze case files, identifying key issues and potential areas of concern for further investigation.
- Attend court hearings and trials as needed, providing support to senior attorneys and gaining firsthand experience in litigation processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues on team projects, contributing to the development of legal strategies and solutions for clients.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the firm's practice areas, sharing insights with the team.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for client meetings and internal training sessions.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to sit for the bar exam.
- Strong academic performance, with a focus on relevant legal subjects such as contract law, corporate law, and litigation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in legal research and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating professionalism and respect for colleagues and clients.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
