SoFi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on AI-accelerated Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This position is pivotal in driving innovation and enhancing our software development processes through the integration of artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on AI technologies and methodologies. What you'll do

Lead the design and implementation of AI-driven tools and frameworks that enhance the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code and efficient processes.
Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to identify opportunities for AI integration within existing workflows and systems.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Develop and maintain scalable software architectures that support rapid deployment and iteration of AI models.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Analyze and optimize existing software processes, leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks and improve overall productivity.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and software engineering, and evaluate their applicability to SoFi's technology stack.
Participate in architectural discussions and decision-making processes, contributing your expertise in AI and software engineering to shape the future of our products.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of AI solutions within the existing infrastructure.
Document technical specifications and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain a high level of transparency within the team.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with business objectives.
Drive initiatives that promote best practices in AI development, including model training, testing, and deployment strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on AI and machine learning applications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with a strong understanding of software development methodologies.
Experience with AI frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns, particularly in the context of scalable systems.
Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring junior team members.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex technical challenges.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their AI services is a plus.

Nice to have

Experience in financial technology or related industries.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community.
Advanced certifications in AI or machine learning.
