Become a vital part of Skydio as an IT Operations Engineer, where you will deliver crucial technology support to our workforce. Your role will involve ensuring that all employees have a experience with their technology, from the onboarding process to ongoing technical assistance. As the primary IT representative at our San Mateo headquarters, you will play a key role in fostering a productive and efficient technological environment for the entire team.

What you'll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for all IT support inquiries, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity across various operating systems.
- Oversee the entire technology lifecycle for employees, which includes onboarding, transfers, and offboarding, ensuring that accounts and devices are provisioned and deprovisioned promptly.
- Manage identity and access protocols using Okta, including single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), user provisioning, and group management.
- Administer device enrollment and updates through JumpCloud, ensuring compliance, repairs, and replacements are handled efficiently.
- Coordinate the equipment request process from initial intake and approval to purchasing, provisioning, and tracking of devices.
- Maintain a precise inventory of IT assets, manage stock levels, and prepare devices for redeployment as necessary.
- Proactively manage and troubleshoot technology in conference rooms, including displays, cameras, and video conferencing systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies to maintain clear and accessible technical records.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to implement best practices, streamline workflows, and enhance overall efficiency.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in the industry.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience providing IT support in a dynamic office environment, including onboarding, equipment provisioning, and in-person assistance.
- Familiarity with Okta administration, particularly in user management, password resets, MFA, and troubleshooting application provisioning issues.
- Proficient in using JumpCloud or similar Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, with experience in compliance policies and scripting.
- Capability to troubleshoot audio-visual equipment in conference rooms, including displays, cameras, microphones, and video conferencing systems.
- A solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and the ability to diagnostic tools for resolving connectivity problems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset focused on process enhancement and a dedication to ongoing learning.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-technical personnel and maintain a visible IT presence.
- Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and excel in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of IT processes.
- Familiarity with cloud services and platforms, such as AWS or Azure, to support cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices to help safeguard company data and systems.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in using IT service management tools for ticketing and support tracking.
- Experience with inventory management systems for tracking IT assets.
- Familiarity with remote desktop support tools to assist employees effectively.
