We are seeking a skilled Drone Platform Integration & Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at Skydio. In this role, you will provide essential technical support and diagnostics for our advanced drone systems and associated cloud operations. Your expertise will be crucial in helping customers enhance their systems and ensuring seamless communication between their experiences and our engineering and product teams.

What you'll do
- Diagnose and resolve issues impacting flight communication and data transmission, offering actionable recommendations to clients with critical uptime needs.
- Oversee and troubleshoot private cloud configurations for customers who require heightened operational privacy.
- Collaborate with team members to swiftly identify and fix issues related to cloud integrations, desktop performance, and data flow.
- Act as a technical resource for training and content development teams, enhancing customer self-help resources.
- Create effective troubleshooting and resolution strategies to minimize escalations to engineering teams regarding communication and integration challenges.
- Work alongside internal leaders and cross-functional engineering and product teams to improve customer support processes.
- Address command and control (C2) and cloud networking issues for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) fleets, applying your knowledge of internet protocols, cellular modems, and wireless point-to-point radios.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored support that enhances their operational efficiency.
- Document technical issues and solutions to contribute to the knowledge base and improve future support efforts.
- Participate in regular team meetings to share insights and updates on ongoing projects and challenges.
- Travel up to 20% of the time to meet with clients or attend relevant industry events as needed.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise-level cloud infrastructure, including cellular, wireless, and Ethernet networks, platform services, and REST integrations in either civilian or military environments.
- Proficient in command-line interfaces (CLI) and scripting languages such as Bash, PHP, or Python, with experience in Linux operating systems.
- Practical experience utilizing AI and analytics tools such as Claude, Coder, WindSurf, LLMs, and Databricks for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues related to APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations, using diagnostic tools like Postman.
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostic tools, including operating system functions, Wireshark, and WiFi congestion analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalations effectively.
- Capacity to learn new technologies independently and adapt to the evolving landscape of UAS remote operations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for client engagements or industry events.
Nice to have
- Experience with UAS operations and flight in state or local government or military contexts.
- Familiarity with public safety information systems utilized in police and fire dispatch centers, including their software, hardware, and mission-critical interfaces.
- Previous experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Jira, and Palantir is a plus.

Practical notes
