What you'll do

Design and implement robust security frameworks tailored for AI applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in AI systems and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and software engineers, to integrate security protocols seamlessly into AI development processes.
Monitor and analyze security incidents related to AI technologies, providing timely responses and implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
Develop and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and best practices specific to AI systems.
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in AI security, proactively recommending improvements to enhance our security posture.
Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members to foster a culture of security awareness within the organization.
Engage with external stakeholders, including vendors and partners, to ensure that third-party AI solutions meet our security requirements.
Participate in security audits and assessments, providing insights and recommendations to enhance overall security strategies.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that AI initiatives adhere to applicable laws and regulations regarding data protection and privacy.
Lead incident response efforts in the event of a security breach, coordinating with relevant teams to minimize impact and restore normal operations.
Contribute to the development of security tools and technologies that enhance the protection of AI systems against emerging threats.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on AI and machine learning security.
Proven expertise in security architecture, risk management, and incident response related to AI technologies.
Strong understanding of AI frameworks and algorithms, as well as their associated security implications.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws relevant to AI.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about security challenges in AI systems.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with security tools and technologies, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and encryption methods.

Nice to have

Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Experience with cloud security, particularly in relation to AI deployments on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with ethical hacking and penetration testing methodologies as they apply to AI systems.
Knowledge of privacy-preserving machine learning techniques and their security implications.

Intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS)
Security information and event management (SIEM) solutions
Data encryption and tokenization techniques
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools

This is a fixed-term position based in Melbourne, Victoria, offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. The role may require occasional travel for training or collaboration with external partners. Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia and may need to obtain a visa if not already a resident.
