Senior Advisory Presales Solution Consultant
Job description
About the role
Senior Advisory Presales Solution Consultant Opportunity at ServiceNow
ServiceNow is actively recruiting a Senior Advisory Presales Solution Consultant to establish technical sales partnerships and deliver expert product and solution guidance to enterprise clients. This role focuses on supporting key accounts within the Energy, Utilities, and Resources sectors. The consultant will drive customer base expansion by applying advanced pre-sales methodologies to highlight the ServiceNow platform's capabilities, including its scalability and user-friendly design.
The position involves direct engagement with executive leadership and stakeholders. Success in this role requires the ability to identify and address business and technical challenges related to digital transformation, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, resilience, and evolving organizational demands. The consultant will conduct detailed interviews, both in person and remotely, to understand client technology landscapes and strategic priorities.
Collaboration with internal sales and strategy teams is central to developing and executing account plans. The role demands leading high-level discussions to define objectives that the Now Platform can resolve, emphasizing tangible business outcomes rather than merely listing product specifications. Selling the platform's strategic value remains a core responsibility.
The consultant will also support or lead regional marketing initiatives, including user conferences, trade shows, and virtual webinars. This includes delivering product demonstrations, ranging from standard overviews to highly customized presentations, across various formats and locations. Creating compelling demo content and scenarios that resonate with specific audiences is a key activity.
A deep and current understanding of the ServiceNow platform is essential. This expertise enables the consultant to offer authoritative guidance on solution design and industry best practices. The role also involves responding to formal procurement documents, such as Requests for Information and Proposals, with precision and strategic insight.
Monitoring competitive landscapes and articulating ServiceNow's unique differentiators is an ongoing duty. The consultant must ensure sales teams are equipped with the latest market intelligence. Close coordination with sales professionals and professional services teams is necessary to manage transition briefings, set deployment expectations, and ensure smooth handovers.
The individual in this role is expected to serve as the primary subject matter expert during executive-facing briefings and marketing functions. This requires a high level of preparedness and thought leadership.
To excel in this position, candidates must bring substantial experience to the table. A minimum of ten years in enterprise software pre-sales, sales engineering, or a related technical advisory capacity is essential. Direct experience selling complex, multi-product software solutions to large enterprises is a prerequisite.
Proven success selling to organizations in the Energy, Utilities, and Resources sectors, specifically those with workforces exceeding 5,000 employees, is required. The candidate must also demonstrate familiarity with one or more specialized domains. These include IT Service Management, Project Portfolio Management, DevOps, Agile methodologies, HR Service Delivery, Governance Risk and Compliance, Security Operations, IT Operations Management, Cloud Management, Event Management, Infrastructure Discovery, or related technological fields.
A working knowledge of current AI terminology, including Agentic and Generative AI concepts, is necessary. The consultant must critically evaluate how these technologies can be integrated into existing workflows, decision-making frameworks, and problem-solving strategies. This includes exploring AI-powered automation, data analysis, and potential operational impacts.
The ability to manage complex, cross-functional teams in a virtual or matrixed environment is crucial. Strong technical aptitude and the capacity to rapidly master new platforms and solutions are expected. Exceptional communication skills are non-negotiable, particularly the ability to convey intricate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role demands outstanding presentation and interpersonal abilities. A strategic understanding of enterprise architecture and the primary business drivers across various departments is vital, extending beyond pure IT considerations. Effective territory management, including pipeline development and alignment with sales partners, is fundamental to achieving performance targets.
The position requires business travel within Ireland and periodic visits to the UK and United States. The primary office locations are London and Staines, with a requirement for periodic in-person attendance based on operational needs. Fluency in English is mandatory for all professional communications.
ServiceNow offers a dynamic environment where flexibility and trust define the work experience. Work personas are assigned based on job requirements and location, allowing for varied work arrangements. ServiceNow maintains a strict Equal Opportunity Employment policy, ensuring all candidates are considered without regard to personal characteristics. The company is committed to creating accessible experiences for all applicants and provides avenues for accommodation requests when needed. Employment conditions are contingent upon compliance with export control regulations for certain positions.
