Bamboohr is looking for a Senior Staff Systems Engineer specializing in Network and Security to join their growing team in Pune, Maharashtra. This is a full-time position that plays a critical part in maintaining and advancing the company's infrastructure and security posture across all operational environments. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support systems that protect organizational data and ensure reliable network operations for business continuity. What you'll do

1 Design and implement scalable network architectures that meet organizational security and performance requirements across all environments

2 Manage and optimize firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security infrastructure components across the enterprise environment

3 Troubleshoot complex network and system issues across distributed environments and production systems with minimal downtime and disruption

4 Collaborate with security teams to develop and enforce policies for access control and data protection measures across the organization

5 Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests and recommend remediation strategies for identified risks and weaknesses

6 Automate routine system administration and security monitoring tasks using scripting and appropriate tooling to reduce manual effort

7 Document network configurations, security procedures, and incident response protocols for team reference and operational continuity

8 Evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions to improve system reliability and security coverage over time and at scale

9 Support incident response activities including root cause analysis and thorough post-incident reviews and detailed documentation

10 Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the engineering organization on a regular and ongoing basis

11 Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning for network and security infrastructure to ensure scalability and reliability

12 Coordinate with compliance and audit teams to ensure regulatory requirements are consistently met and maintained across all systems

Requirements

1 Extensive hands-on experience in systems engineering with a strong focus on network and security domains and industry practices

2 Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching, and network segmentation principles in enterprise and production settings

3 Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, VPN solutions, and intrusion prevention systems in production environments and live deployments

4 Proficiency in both Linux and Windows server administration across production and staging environments with automation experience

5 Ability to analyze large-scale system logs and security events to identify anomalies and potential threats effectively and quickly

6 Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines consistently

7 Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical procedures and collaborating with stakeholders across teams

8 Experience working in regulated industries or environments with strict compliance and audit requirements and standards

Nice to have

1 Familiarity with major cloud platforms and their native security and networking services is beneficial for this role

2 Experience with security information and event management platforms for log analysis and correlation activities and workflows

3 Knowledge of identity and access management frameworks and single sign-on authentication protocols and industry standards

4 Background in threat hunting or advanced security monitoring and detection operations is highly valued here

5 Experience with data loss prevention tools and endpoint protection platforms for comprehensive security coverage
