Scopely is seeking a strategic leader to oversee community operations for an unannounced AAA open-world adventure title. This remote position involves building a global strategy for social media, influencer relations, and community management for a cross-platform game featuring world-class IP. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end community experience, shaping how players interact with the brand long before launch and well into the live service. You will serve as the bridge between the development studio and the player base, ensuring that the voice of the community is heard and integrated into the product vision. This role requires a proactive mindset to anticipate community needs and mitigate potential risks to the brand. You will be responsible for fostering a healthy, inclusive, and engaged player ecosystem that supports the commercial success of the title. The position demands a high level of ownership and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where strategy evolves with the product.

What you'll do
- Design and implement comprehensive community, social media, and influencer plans for a new title currently in development.
- Recruit and mentor a team dedicated to community management and digital engagement.
- Act as the primary voice for the community, ensuring player feedback informs development cycles.
- Create global strategies that align with brand identity to boost player retention, advocacy, and engagement.
- Establish communication channels between developers, players, and content creators.
- Collaborate with IP partners to ensure brand authenticity across all community touchpoints.
- Monitor engagement metrics and sentiment data to refine tactics and report on performance.
- Organize community events and produce original content that highlights player achievements and gameplay.
- Develop crisis communication protocols to address community concerns or public relations challenges swiftly.
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify community trends and best practices within the gaming industry.
- Partner with marketing to synchronize community initiatives with broader campaign launches and seasonal activations.
- Define key performance indicators for community health and present insights to senior leadership for strategic decisions.
- Evaluate and optimize community tools and platforms to ensure they meet the needs of a growing player base.
- Drive initiatives to grow and diversify the community across various demographics and regions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in community, social media, and influencer management within the gaming sector.
- Proven track record of managing game communities and influencer programs.
- Deep familiarity with the free-to-play market, player trends, and industry behaviors.
- Experience working on projects involving licensed intellectual property.
- Proficiency in data analysis to interpret engagement metrics and guide strategic decisions.
- Ability to work effectively across departments including Marketing, LiveOps, Production, and Engineering.
- Experience building programs that support various community segments throughout a product lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional tone suitable for executive audiences.
- Passion for gaming and a genuine understanding of gaming community cultures.
- Willingness to participate in occasional after-hours community engagement during major launches or crises.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful online environment for all players.

- The salary range specified is applicable to residents of California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, and Washington.
