About the role
Satispay is building a financial platform that helps 6 million users manage their money. This role focuses on backend services for savings and investment products. You will contribute to a platform that empowers users to pay, save, and invest. In this capacity, you will own the end to end lifecycle of backend services dedicated to savings and investment products, ensuring that features are delivered with robustness and scalability in mind. You will work closely with domain experts to turn business ambitions into reliable technical capabilities that users can trust with their financial wellbeing. Your work will directly influence how millions of people build savings and grow their wealth through intuitive digital experiences. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the critical backend infrastructure that powers these financial interactions.

What you'll do
- Design, build, test, and operate backend services for savings and investment products using Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.
- Develop and maintain core functionalities such as the "Invested Money Box," automated savings goals, and investment portfolios, ensuring high reliability.
- Manage AWS-based infrastructure (EC2/ECS, S3, Lambda, Kinesis) and improve architectural designs for wealth-related microservices.
- Utilize AI tools for code optimization, root cause analysis, and documentation.
- Translate financial requirements into scalable technical solutions, balancing delivery speed with precision.
- Collaborate with Product and UX teams, contributing to code reviews, post-mortems, and refactoring to promote best practices.
- Debug complex issues, investigate production incidents, and share insights to improve system health.
- Implement automated testing strategies and monitoring solutions to validate correctness and detect anomalies early.
- Optimize database queries and system integrations to meet stringent performance and consistency standards.
- Participate in architectural decision-making and help shape the long term vision for the wealth product suite.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on coding standards, design patterns, and operational best practices.
- Act as a technical liaison between engineering, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities.
- Continuously explore new technologies and techniques to improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Take ownership of production incidents, driving investigations and implementing preventative measures.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Backend Engineer in fast-paced environments.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable microservices.
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and relational databases.
- Deep understanding of performance, data integrity, and transactional consistency in financial systems.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Fluent in English.
- Interest in FinTech, wealth management, or startup environments.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Experience with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong problem solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging complex issues.
- Commitment to following security and compliance guidelines relevant to financial services.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving product needs and technical challenges.
- Track record of delivering high quality software on schedule.
