This role drives data efficient learning for robotics and enables cross-lab collaboration to define how Samsung's product ecosystem shapes future robotics experiences and capabilities. You will own the design and execution of data strategies that improve robot learning efficiency across diverse sources and environments. The position requires you to translate raw robot data into scalable insights that directly influence product decisions and user value. You will act as a bridge between algorithmic research, production pipelines, and business stakeholders to align solutions with strategic objectives. Success in this role depends on your ability to lead data initiatives that balance innovation with practical deployment constraints. You will mentor team members while fostering collaboration across internal labs and external partners. What you'll do
Proof-of-concepts, demos, and prototypes are prepared, and pilot studies are designed and executed using available robot platforms.
Customers and stakeholders are engaged at business and technical levels to align solutions with objectives.
Data pipelines for robot learning are architected, incorporating simulation, teleoperation, egocentric video, and third-person video inputs.
Robot learning experiments are designed, executed, and analyzed to evaluate data efficiency, performance, and scalability.
Multi-GPU training workflows are implemented, tuned, and monitored to optimize data throughput and model convergence.
Data augmentation strategies are developed and iteratively improved to increase robustness across diverse operating conditions.
Model deployment pipelines are built and maintained to support rapid iteration and reliable operation in real-world environments.
Production robot learning pipelines are evaluated, and options for data mixtures are assessed to maximize learning efficiency.
Robotics fundamentals including locomotion, manipulation, sensor inputs, SLAM, ROS, and simulation environments such as Nvidia Isaac SIM are leveraged to guide data strategies.
Teams are led through formal and informal mentorship, with clear expectations, feedback, and career development support.
Requirements
PhD degree in a technology or engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
7+ years of work experience after PhD in the robotics domain.
Deep knowledge and experience in ML training, including data and model management techniques, data augmentation approaches, multi-GPU training, model tuning, and model deployment.
Knowledge of production robot learning pipelines and options for data mixtures, including simulation, teleoperation, egocentric video, and third person video.
Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals, including locomotion, manipulation, sensor inputs, SLAM, ROS, simulation environments (e.g. Nvidia Isaac-SIM), and policy architectures.
Proven ability to lead teams and provide both formal and informal mentorship.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and business audiences.
Sound understanding of early-stage technology research programs, including user needs, requirements definition, project scoping, and execution from inception to prototyping.
