About the role
You will architect and lead the end to end vision for Gen AI powered digital health products that directly impact consumer wellbeing. You will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for a portfolio of innovative health offerings built on wearables, smartphones, medical devices, and EMR/EHR data. This role requires you to translate complex scientific concepts into tangible, safe, and impactful user experiences that scale globally. You will be the definitive voice for responsible and effective Generative AI in health within Samsung Research America. You will foster a culture of rigorous research, clinical alignment, and rapid commercialization within your distributed team. Your leadership will establish the technical credibility and product excellence required for new Gen AI health solutions. You will partner closely with clinical, regulatory, design, and engineering organizations to ensure solutions are both scientifically sound and commercially viable.

Champion the conception and delivery of bold Gen AI health product concepts that advance personal health goals for millions of users.
Define and communicate a clear, inspiring vision for the application of Generative AI to digital health that resonates across internal stakeholders and external partners.
Lead a globally distributed team of engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver safe and effective health solutions.
Establish and enforce rigorous product pipelines, ensuring projects progress from exploration to launch and commercialization milestones.
Drive innovation in Gen AI technologies including LLMs, RAG, fine tuning, prompt engineering, and responsible AI frameworks.
Ensure excellence in research by promoting scientific publications, intellectual property development, and cutting edge methodologies.
Provide hands on coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to build the capabilities of your team in software development and AI.
Implement and evolve industry standard software development processes utilizing modern tool chains to maximize quality and efficiency.
Champion the integration of data from wearables, smartphones, health devices at home, and EMR/EHR systems into scalable health applications.
Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and design teams to validate usability, safety, and clinical relevance of new products.
Continuously assess the market and technology landscape to identify opportunities for leadership in Gen AI for Health.
Represent Samsung Research America in external forums, partnerships, and industry discussions to strengthen our reputation in digital health.
Requirements
Earn a Ph.D. or Masters degree in a technical or health related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biophysics, Biological Sciences, or health sciences.
Possess a minimum of 14 years of professional experience at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health with a proven track record of launching innovative products.
Demonstrate substantial experience leading globally distributed teams and mentoring multiple managers and technical staff.
Show deep technical expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models including RAG, fine tuning, prompt engineering, reinforcement learning from human feedback, human factors evaluation, red teaming, safety, and responsible AI practices.
Bring strong knowledge and hands on experience in digital health domains including wearables, smartphones, connected health devices, and clinical data such as EMR/EHR.
Exhibit a history of delivering complex technical projects from research through commercialization in regulated or highly sensitive environments.
Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
Commit to upholding the highest standards of data privacy, security, and ethical responsibility in all health related product development.
Nice to have
Experience with healthcare delivery systems, clinical informatics, or regulatory pathways in digital health.
Background in consumer electronics product development and user experience design.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based at our Mountain View, California office located at 665 Clyde Avenue.
Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements for this role.
Travel may be required up to 25 percent of the time for team meetings, stakeholder reviews, and industry engagements.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
