What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions to enhance the Compute Cell Platform, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define and refine technical requirements and specifications.
• Optimize existing services and infrastructure for improved efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs that facilitate seamless integration with other services and platforms.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, employing analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance our platform's capabilities.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept through deployment and maintenance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Document technical designs, processes, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing and onboarding of new members.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to automate deployment processes and improve system monitoring and alerting.
• Engage in performance tuning and optimization of cloud resources to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and frameworks that enhance developer productivity and streamline workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on cloud-based systems and services.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a strong understanding of software design principles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and a solid understanding of data modeling concepts.
• A passion for gaming and a desire to contribute to the Roblox community and ecosystem.

• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven programming.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and their design challenges.
