What you'll do
- Design and develop backend services and components for our fraud detection platform, ensuring robust implementation of product logic.
- Lead technical initiatives that contribute to the overall Technical Roadmap and Risk Defense strategy of the organization.
- Enhance our data mining capabilities and implement data-driven methodologies to combat fraud effectively.
- Conduct data analysis to gain insights into fraud and abuse patterns, informing future strategies and solutions.
- Act as a liaison between backend engineers and data scientists, facilitating communication and collaboration on projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
- Participate in the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation through implementation and A/B testing, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that fraud prevention measures are integrated seamlessly into the user experience.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in developing scalable, distributed systems.
- Proven expertise in large-scale, data-driven architecture, including API design, data modeling, and both SQL and NoSQL data storage solutions.
- Background in risk prevention, with experience in areas such as anti-fraud, anti-abuse, or trust and safety initiatives.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques or analytical methodologies, including data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a high-growth technology environment, particularly in gaming or digital platforms.
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in fraud prevention and detection.
- Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure, particularly in relation to data processing and storage.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Experience with data analysis tools and frameworks, including but not limited to Pandas, NumPy, or similar.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Understanding of web technologies and mobile application development.
Practical notes
This position is based at our headquarters in San Mateo, California. The starting salary for this role ranges from $196,750 to $243,290 USD, depending on various factors such as experience, qualifications, and market demand. In addition to a competitive salary, full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
